Drawings
I strongly believe that having solid fundamental drawing skills is essential to all forms of visual art. I try to work on my drawing on a regular basis. My drawings are sometimes studies for larger pieces, sometimes finished works of art, and sometimes just practice. I draw and paint the same way. I like to start with a medium valued toned surface that has some accidental structure. I work holistically and gradually refine and define the image by alternately obscuring and redefining.
