Paintings - Figures
I love drawing and painting figures. Just the way the muscles and flesh lock onto the bones is a beautiful thing. Subtle movements of the joints and shifting of the weight can reveal volumes about the subject's mood or attitude. I like to start with a rapid loose gesture drawing and gradually define the volumes and surface effects of light and shadow.
Retreat
Sometimes when I dream I find myself lost in the tangled vines and weeds that I often use as subjects.
