Paintings - Nature
I never paint what would be considered traditional landscapes. It's the things in nature that usually go unnoticed and are hard to get to that draw me in. I must admit that I'm often troubled by the fact that few people understand the meaning of my landscapes. Often people like them because they feel they are decorative and visually appealing, which I think they are. Sometimes I think it's the energetic painterly quality that I certainly hope they possess. And I've had people say the painting reminds them of someplace they've been or would like to be. I appreciate all of those sentiments, but the content of my work is primarily about order emerging out of chaos. How and why this occurs in reality has always been an enigma to me.
